Set sail for a weeklong journey through one of the Mediterranean’s best-kept secrets — the stunning island of Sardinia.
Explore the crystal-clear waters and hidden coves of the Maddalena Islands, and cross into French waters for an unforgettable visit to the dramatic cliffs and medieval charm of Bonifacio, Corsica.
This region offers a unique blend of natural beauty, rich history, and authentic Mediterranean culture. From prehistoric Nuraghe ruins to glamorous marinas and quiet fishing villages, Sardinia is a place where time slows down — and adventure begins.
Whether you’re an experienced sailor or joining a flotilla for the first time, this trip is your gateway to a sailing experience like no other.
Fly into Olbia on Thursday, take a scenic drive to Cannigione, and let the magic of the Emerald Coast and beyond unfold. With charming accommodations nearby, your early arrival helps you ease into island time before setting sail on Saturday.
After lunch, we’ll complete provisioning and check-in aboard our yachts. Around 17:00, we set sail from Cannigione, heading out of the Golfo di Arzachena toward Porto Palma on the island of Caprera—a relaxed sail of about 5.5 NM.
We’ll anchor for the night in this quiet bay and enjoy dinner on board, soaking in the peaceful start to our sailing adventure.
We start the day sailing through the Maddalena Archipelago, where steady winds and stunning scenery — including unique rock formations — make for a memorable morning.
We’ll drop anchor in Cala Portese for lunch and a refreshing swim, then continue sailing about 10 nautical miles to the spacious anchorage of Porto Liscia.
We’ll spend the night at anchor, with dinner on board under the stars.
Our destination of the day after – hopefully – some good sailing, will be the small port of Marina Cala Gavetta, where we will spend the night, replenish our water tanks, and go for a nice dinner at the excellent local ristorante.
We’ll start the day with a quick stop for light provisioning — maybe a few more bottles of local wine?
Then we’re off sailing again, heading to the charming port of Santa Teresa di Gallura, where we’ll spend the night at the dock.
In the afternoon, there’s time to explore the village, and in the evening, we’ll head inland for dinner at a traditional “agroturismo” — a rustic farmhouse restaurant serving authentic Sardinian cuisine in the nearby hills.
Today we cross the Straits of Bonifacio and sail to the stunning French town of Bonifacio in southern Corsica. Carved into dramatic limestone cliffs, this picturesque port is one of the highlights of the trip.
We’ll dock at the marina and spend the afternoon exploring the historic Old Town and its impressive fortress.
Dinner will be ashore, with plenty of charming restaurants to choose from.
Note: If weather conditions don’t allow for the crossing, we’ll have alternative plans that are just as enjoyable.
On our way back to Sardinia, we stop by the Lavezzi Islands for some refreshing swimming and snorkeling and we head for Porto Pozzo for an overnight at anchor.
Dinner on board.
Yes, the week is almost over, and we have to be back in Cannigione but not without some good sailing and some swimming.
You can spend the night on board or disembark for your next destination.
As our flotilla journey comes to an end, it’s time to disembark and say goodbye. Yachts must be vacated by 09:00 am, but the memories, new friendships, and unforgettable experiences will stay with you long after you’ve left.
