RYA Competent Crew sailing course

tl;dr Choose Corfu Sea School! It's the best money I've splurged on myself. It is not possible for me to overstate my enjoyment of and appreciation for these two weeks I have spent with the Corfu Sea School and my instructor, Phil. With the online theory courses, I felt well-prepared for the practical portion at sea. The school's passion and professionalism is evident in their clean and well-maintained vessels and equipment and in the character of their instructors. Phil was patient and light-hearted, keeping us safe and offering guidance and correction with humor and encouragement. Under his tutelage, my hesitance and timidity quickly vanished giving way to confident knowledge and capability. I highly recommend Corfu Sea School, and I greatly look forward to coming back for more adventures and, eventually, higher sailing credentials.

I recently completed my Coastal Skipper course at Corfu Sea School, and I can't recommend it enough! This was my third course with them, having previously done the Competent Crew and Day Skipper, and I will absolutely be returning for my Yachtmaster as well. The instructor was exceptional—knowledgeable, patient, and really made the learning process enjoyable. The atmosphere at the school is fantastic; the team is friendly, fun, and genuinely passionate about teaching. On the day we received our certifications, it was clear how much effort and care had gone into the experience, and it was a moment filled with smiles and excitement. The sailing area around Corfu is perfect for training, with beautiful waters and scenic routes that make learning even more enjoyable. Plus, I really appreciated the option to complete the shore-based part of the Day Skipper course online through their website. The presentation format is really accessible and breaks things down in a way that's easy to understand, which is a huge bonus for those who might find plain text overwhelming. Overall, Corfu Sea School offers an amazing learning experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to further their sailing skills. Whether you're a beginner or looking to take the next step in your sailing journey, this is the place to be!

Spent two weeks with Corfu Sea School doing my Competent Crew with Billy and Day Skipper with Roman and can say it was a faultless experience. Although challenging it was awesome experience and can't believe I learnt so much in such a small space of time. They know sailing inside out and will not falter even under endless novice questioning! Steve was great throughout the whole process dealing with admin side of things and also taking me through the VHF course. The Powerboat level 2 was a blast with Roman was also a blast!

Amazing school and very professional instructor! I did the Day Skipper course with Roman and we explained us really well all the practical maneuvers to an extent that we almost did them afterwards from the first try. As a plus he was also funny and the learning experience was enjoyable.

I had the best week ever at Corfu sea school. I initially was nervous about completing my day skipper but Billy was amazing in tailoring learning to suit me. He was knowledgeable, and friendly and made the whole week so enjoyable I didn’t need to be nervous at all! We also spent time in the evenings after the days sailing with the other instructors Lissie and Roman who were also amazing and just made the whole experience really positive. Thank you so, so much for such a great week!
