• Master the complete starting routine: acceleration, holding position on the line, pre-start procedures and precise start timing.
• Apply key Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS 10–18) in upwind situations and around marks, making safe and fast decisions under pressure.
• Increase boat speed and VMG through effective racing trim of the mainsail and genoa, proper helm balance, and maintaining boat stability during maneuvers.
• Handle the spinnaker confidently (hoisting, dropping, trimming) and execute clean tacks, gybes, and mark roundings without loss of speed.
• Develop fundamental racecourse tactics: when to maneuver, protecting the right-hand side and covering competitors.
• Refine crew roles and communication, including rotation through key positions (helmsman, trimmer, bowman, pitman), and prepare for and participate in a local regatta.
