Join us for cruising the Hebrides on summer starting and finishing in Oban. We will visit the Isle of Mull, the small Isles (Canna and/or Rum), Skye and possibly Uist or Harris. Escape the crowds and explore exceptional and pristine coast lines and anchorages. These waters are exceptional for spotting wildlife such as dolphins and occasionally whales. A highlight will be to anchor in Loch Harport on Skye to visit the famous Talisker distillery.
You will stay on a comfortable cabin boat. Sailing experience is not required and trip is great for all levels of sailing ability.
Canna with it’s beautiful black sand beaches, and little thriving community of around 35, quaint old churches, romantic scenery and excellent Café/restaurant overlooking the bay.
Rum has a very moving history, people lived there for thousands of years until they were evicted in clearances in 1830s. Since 2010 the island is run by the community trust and is thriving it boasts an abundance of wild life with semi wild horses and hundreds of dear you are most likely to see wandering through the village in the bay where we will anchor looking at famous Bullochs castle. The scenery is in contrast with Canna very mountainous and we may go for a hike. The local community is welcoming and you maybe in for treat to experience the party in their always open community house.
Skye, Loch Harport has Talisker distillery and after tour and dram or two we can climb nearby hill covered with lush vegetation to arguably one of the best sea food places on the Hebrides, which is run by locals, supplied by local fisherman and serves freshly made fish, lobster and other treats.

4 months agoI have been sailing with Go West regularly for two years now and I have done Competent Crew, Day Skipper Theory and Day Skipper Practical with them. I have also done 3 experience builders, their specialist pontoon and close quarters manoeuvres weekend and most recently a 7 day adventure sail from Largs to Oban. Next up is the VHF course. I have now sailed on 6 of their boats and with 6 of their instructors. Go West is a very well run business, with a considerable number of repeat customers. Their boats are all very well maintained and equipped and their instructors are patient, knowledgeable and polite. However, above all they are all passionate committed lifelong sailors who are keen to pass on their enthusiasm to their customers. I will definitely sail with them again.

4 months agoI had an incredible week sailing along Scotland’s west coast from Largs in May 2025. We explored some stunning Scottish islands with our fantastic skipper, Danny, who made the whole trip even better. The yacht was modern, really comfortable, and a joy to sail. It was an unforgettable experience - great training, a real sense of adventure, and so much fun. I’d highly recommend it to anyone!

2 months agoIn May, we sailed with Go West Sailing under Captain Danny — and what an incredible journey it was. From start to finish, the trip was absolutely amazing. Captain Danny knows his craft inside out; he had complete command of the route, navigated safely through everything, and always made us feel secure. Beyond being a professional, he was truly the heart and soul of our group. Highly recommend Go West Sailing and Captain Danny to anyone looking for a memorable, safe, and joyful sailing experience.
