Set sail from ACI Marina Dubrovnik, the Pearl of the Adriatic, on a week‑long food & wine flotilla across Croatia’s most delicious shores.
Explore Korčula, hike the Medieval walls of Ston, roam the lush forests of Mljet, and soak up the ancient charm of Dubrovnik itself.
You’ll be visiting family‑run wineries, sampling regional dishes prepared by chefs who know this land, sipping wine in spectacular settings, and discovering the flavors that make Dalmatia unforgettable. Between indulgent meals, dive into crystal Adriatic water and enjoy sailing under a horizon that’s always beautiful.
We will meet at the ACI Dubrovnik Marina in Komolac around lunchtime. The marina has excellent shower facilities, restaurants, and a nice pool. After lunch, under the guidance of “Admiral” Mila, we will do our provisioning. If everything runs smoothly, we anticipate a departure around 17:00.
Leave Dubrovnik ACI Marina and head for nearby Zaton. Our first gastro experience will be in Restaurant Kasar, home of the best black risotto we have ever tasted. Kasar was featured on Andrew Zimmern’s popular TV shows.
We arrive next in Ston, once the salt capital of the Ragusa Republic, guarded by what’s now one of Europe’s longest preserved walls. You’ll have the option to hike from Ston to Mali Ston, where we’ll watch oyster and mussel farming in action and sample them paired with fine wine.
That evening, we sail to Kobaš and dock at the Gastro Mare restaurant, where Chef Tony will delight us with a prix fixe seafood menu—and desserts by Maja. The next morning, we’ll rise early, share breakfast, and prepare to cast off again.
We’ll sail into Trstenik, on the western shore of Pelješac—renowned for its Plavac Mali and Dingač wines. Plavac Mali (a parent of Zinfandel and Primitivo) thrives on these slopes. Close to the harbor sits Grgić Winery, founded by Miljenko “Mike” Grgich—famous in Napa and at home in Croatia. You’ll taste his Plavac Mali and Pošip while overlooking the sea. In the evening, dine at Vitaceae, with views over the port. After a digestif, you’ll return for a restful night aboard.
If you’ve ever wondered where Marco Polo might have settled when he wasn’t traveling Asia, you’ll find the answer in medieval Korčula. On Tuesday afternoon we dock at ACI Marina and step into its maze of cobbled lanes and towering walls.
We’ll visit two outstanding family wineries: Tasovac and Black Island. For dinner, choose from Korčula’s top restaurants or join us at Banja, just outside town—where we discovered the best sous‑vide grilled octopus to date.
We will dock in the bay of Polace, where we will enjoy one of the main specialties in Dalmatia, the so-called Peka
Check out the ruins of a Roman palace where, according to historical records, the Apostle Paul stayed for a while after having been shipwrecked.
The bay is part of a natural park. Work up an appetite with a thirty-minute hike to the lake with a medieval Benedictine Abbey on a small island. The scenery is worth the small effort but, if hiking is not your thing, you can also take a taxi to the lake or rent an electric bike.
We leave the bay of Polace and sail southeast along the coast of Mljet to the small port of Okuklje. Dinner aboard or at any local restaurant.
We will refuel our boats in nearby Sobra and then head back to the base in Dubrovnik. On the way, some more swimming and paddleboarding.
Disembark by 9:00 am and go home with great memories and new friendships.
