4 months agoMy wife, a close friend, and I took the 5 pm Sunset Catamaran Sailing Cruise with Sail Monterey, and it was a fantastic experience. Captain Paul was at the helm, bringing both expertise and a calm, relaxed presence to the journey, making us feel completely at ease. The cruise offered a selection of refreshments, including water, wine, and beer, and cozy blankets were available as the sun dipped below the horizon—a thoughtful touch that added to the comfort of the evening. We were fortunate to have just the right amount of wind, which made for an exhilarating sail once the engine was turned off. The quiet that followed was idyllic, letting us fully enjoy the natural beauty of Monterey Bay. We can’t recommend this company enough. With excellent pricing, a delightful ride, and an experience that exceeded all our expectations, this cruise was an absolute highlight of our trip.

4 months agoMy wife and I booked a daytime cruise (10/25/24 @11AM-12:15PM) on Sail Monterey. While on this particular day the winds were quite light, so it was not sufficient to travel under sail, but that also meant calm water (which was fine with us). This was our first sail trip ON Monterey bay even though we have traveled to this area countless times over the past 45 years. It was very enjoyable learning more about the ecosystem of Monterey Bay. The skies were blue with striking high clouds and a perfect temperature. Could not have been better for our trip. Plenty of harbor seals and sea lions near the harbor and even out in the Bay. Great job by all the staff. Highly recommend this trip.

4 months agoFree drinks provided!! Really appreciate Paul and his crew. The sunset sail on the catamaran provides a stunning panoramic view of the Monterey coastline. Great for couples and or small parties. Would highly recommend if want to learn a little about sailing while relaxing and taking in a truly unique perspective of Monterey.

7 months agoI hardly had any experience on sailboats before taking a 2 hr intro lesson with Captain Paul. After the intro lesson, I felt very welcome and inspired to take ASA 101 and 103 with Captain Vince. I had a great experience every time I went and learned so much. I’m sure other sailing schools are great, but they can’t be like Sail Monterey. The instructors are knowledgeable, friendly, and encouraging. If you are wanting to learn, Sail Monterey is the place to start. It’s been less than a year since taking my first 2 hr intro lesson and I have rented from Sail Monterey multiple times and I can’t wait for the next time!

a week agoVince was an excellent captain, and the experience was unparalleled! The crew worked with us to find an ideal date to reschedule to once the forecast projected storms on the date we originally chose. We saw plenty of marine life, including humpback whales (not guaranteed, but oh my goodness — what a sight to see!). By far one of this was one of the best parts of our trip to west coast.
