Course Description: This course introduces the intermediate sailor to the cruising yacht and offshore sailing procedures. Curriculum includes mechanical and electrical systems, weather navigation, anchoring, reefing, heavy weather sailing, rules of the road, motoring skills, safety and emergency procedures, maneuvering under power, and VHF radio procedures. Pricing includes textbook, taxes, and fees.
Goal: Be qualified to rent boats larger than 27 feet (8.2 meters) with inboard diesel engines for local water day sailing.
Course Format
- Day 1 5:00pm-8:00pm Classroom Session & Provisioning
- Day 2 9:00am-5:00pm On the Water Practice & Learning
- Day 3 9:00am-5:00pm Exam & 4-Hour Solo Sail

3 months agoTop notch service! Chartered a sailboat for days sail out in the bay. I was very impressed from start to finish. The vessel and all safety equipment is well maintained. Was also pleasantly surprised they offer ASA classes! Can't wait to come back!

4 months agoDid the sunset cruise and it was totally worth it! Not too long, gorgeous views. Would wear appropriate clothing for the cold winds near sunset time though they have some blankets on board.

a year agoI loved every bit of this cruise! Everyone on board was so pleasant and the captain knew all about the area and wildlife which was fun to hear about. Also gave great recommendations on great cocktails in the area. Would have booked back to back nights had the cruise tonight already been fully booked. Will be back very soon! Thank you!

4 months agoIt was a beautiful sunset evening on SB coast. We enjoyed the sailing. The boat was full, so minimal ability to move around for best photos, but I got some good ones. I was hoping to see dolphins or whales, but did not see any. Captain Mark and crew Haley were great hosts. I wish that Mark would speak a bit clearer. His descriptions of the sites were hard to understand. Overall a great, romantic sunset cruise.
