Understand how booking works on Find a Sail

This tutorial will guide you through the booking process from a user’s perspective. Learn how to browse listings, make booking requests, and finalize your bookings seamlessly.

Step-by-step guide

Step 1: Browse Listings and Make a Booking Request

Action:

  • Browse Listings: Explore the available listings and choose the course or sailing experience that suits you best.
      • Note: If you have any questions that are not covered by the listing or the Provider T&Cs, you can send the provider a direct message

Reservation:

  • Make a Reservation: Select number of spots and any extras, and click “Make a Reservation” to fill out and send a Booking Request to the provider.
    • Agree to T&Cs: Ensure you read and agree with the Provider T&Cs before submitting your request.

Notification:

    • Booking Request Sent: You will receive an automatic email notification and a dashboard alert in “My Bookings” once your booking request is sent.
      • From now on, you can monitor & manage your booking from the Dashboard


Step 2: Provider Reviews Your Request

  • Review: The provider will check the details of your booking request, including dates, number of guests, and any additional information you provided.
  • Decision: The provider will either accept or decline your request.
    • Approve: If the request fits their schedule and availability, they will approve it.
    • Reject: If they are unable to accommodate the request, they will reject it and may provide a reason.
  • Notification: You will receive a notification via email and dashboard alert once the provider approves your booking request.

Step 3: Make the Final Confirmation with an Obligation to Pay

  • Final Confirmation: Confirm your booking by following the prompt in the notification. You need to confirm within 24h of receiving Approval, otherwise your request will expire.
  • Obligation: This step includes an obligation to pay the provider.


Step 4: Provider Contacts You to Finalize the Booking

  • Connection: Upon your final confirmation, the provider will receive your contact details.
  • Communication: The Provider will contact you directly via email to finalize the booking and provide payment instructions.
  • Payment: Complete the payment process directly with the provider using the provided instructions.

Important Notes:

  • Updates: Throughout the process, you will be kept updated via email and dashboard notifications. Check your spam folder if unsure about receiving notifications.
  • Contact: If you have any questions or need assistance, contact the provider directly using the contact details provided after the final confirmation. You may also contact Find a Sail at any time using the contact form.
